Which kinds of AABI Member can my organization or I apply?
There are TWO kinds of AABI membership that we encourage you to apply. They are,
【AABI Association Member】 An Association Member should be an association that organizes business incubation resources and facilities in a given economy. In principle, an Association Member shall represent the economy in which it is based.
【AABI Incubator Member】 An Incubator Member should be an organization that operates business incubation programs.
Question 2.
What are your requirements for AABI Member?
Any organization or association that carries out activities corresponding with the objective of AABI is eligible to become an AABI member in its relevant category.
Once we received your application form, the application will be processed and evaluated by existing AABI members with voting rights. More detailed application procedures for AABI membership please refer to Question 5.
Question 3.
What can my organization or I enjoy as AABI Member?
Being AABI Member, you can
Enhance your visibility and credibility in Asia-pacific region by using AABI member logo and involving in AABI Awards application, etc.
Support your international networking by participating in exclusive AABI Events and obtain latest information about the international activities organized by AABI members.
Serve your clients better through diversified AABI services, include but not limited to participate in our IBI Workshop, have direct access to our Partnering Desk and receive APJIE Magazine in real time.
Question 4.
Is AABI membership permanent? If not, what should we do to renew/maintain the membership?
AABI Membership is NOT permanent, of course. For example, if you fail to pay membership fee for TWO consecutive years, or as an AABI Association Member, you fail to dispatch a representative or alternative delegate to annual General Assembly in FOUR consecutive years, your membership can be revoked. Keep active under the framework of AABI network.
Please ensure at least one executive from your organization is responsible for AABI matters and daily communications.
Please actively participate in AABI events and activities.
AABI Association Members enjoy the privileges to reduce and even exempt from registration fee in AABI back-up events. AABI Incubator Members can also enjoy this privilege if the Association Members share their quota. So, we encourage you to stay attentively and keep active in our community!
Question 5.
How to apply for AABI Member?
Step 1: submit your application form to AABI Secretariat.
Step 2: obtain approval from the relevant party.
For【Association Member】
New association member shall be approved by all existing members with voting rights at General Assembly.
For【Incubator Member】
New incubator members shall be approved by AABI Association Member with the relevant jurisdiction or by AABI Secretariat. After receiving the approval, the new incubator membership will be announced at General Assembly next year.
Question 6.
Who makes the decisions in AABI community?
All AABI organizational matters which are to be included in AABI bylaws before enactment shall be voted by AABI Association Members with voting rights at General Assembly. Please also note that each economy can only enjoy one voting right regardless of the number of association members in it.
Question 7.
How can we run for AABI President? What's the requirement?
Firstly, not all AABI Members can run for the President. AABI President and Vice President shall only be elected from the nominees formally recommended by the association members with voting rights.
Secondly, the president nominee should meet the following requirements:
has been the major representative of AABI Association Member.
has rich experiences in incubator management.
has high reputation among AABI members.
is willing to contribute his/her efforts for the further development of AABI.
Once the President is elected, he or she shall serve a term of TWO years and shall be eligible for reelection. During his or her term, the President shall attend all the General Assembly meetings and bear the travelling expenses by him/herself or by the association member he or she belongs.
Question 8.
Is there any regular meeting can I join to connect with AABI Members?
Yes, we do have a regular meeting. That is our General Assembly which is to be held at least once every year. During the conference, you can have a face-to–face meeting with all AABI members present and a chance to get to know the innovation industry of the host country or region.
Apart from the General Assembly, you can also connect with other AABI members by actively attending AABI Back-up events.
