2. candidates
Business incubators (BI) in AABI member countries (and Asian countries) can apply
for selection as AABI Incubators. If their country is not an AABI member, said country
must become an AABI member if the BI is selected.
Candidate BIs must satisfy the following criteria:
a. Significant record of successfully incubating venture businesses and a strong
domestic network of service providers who can offer venture businesses managerial
and technical support.
b. Sufficient workspace for about 5 foreign enterprises with same lease and service
conditions offered to domestic clients.
c. BI managers capable of helping foreign enterprises establish and expand their
businesses in the local economy, including proficiency in foreign languages (English,
etc.), or have a firm plan to employ such managers.
Canditate BIs that have financial support from central or local government are preferred.
3. Selection Process
AABI Association members and related organizations mayrecommend one or two BIs as
candidate for AABI incubator every year. A Selection Committee shall receive and
examine the applications to select those meeting the criteria provided in 2) above.
The AABI President shall nominate the Selection Committee Chairman, who shall take
charge of organizing the Committee and supervising the selection process.

Selection process
AABI received 20 nominees for AABI Incubator in year 2004. Candidates shall be evaluated
on the following 6 assessment items; 1) Location Infrastructure, 2) Building workspace,
3) Management Capability, 4) Support Services, 5) International Approach, 6) Additional
Information.
Judges from AABI Incubator Selection Committee scored all of the 20 nominees based
on AABI Incubator criteria. Based on the score results, AABI has designated one
incubator from each economic entity out of the top 10 incubators marked highest
score.
The following 4 incubators came out as on the list of the top 10 incubators, however
not designated as AABI Incubators due to the selection framework of "one incubator
from each economic entity". Thus these 4 incubators are also reliable when you wish
to move into the local market, and for your convenience, listed as follows;
